Continuing her efforts to ensure equal protection for all workers, Seattle Mayor Jenny A. Durkan signed a bill into law Friday that bans sub-minimum wages for people with disabilities. Authored by Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda (Pos. 8 - Citywide), this bill will promote integration and equal treatment for people with disabilities. The City of Seattle remains deeply committed to providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities, and the City is now the largest single employer in the nation for people with disabilities, with 111 supported employees working in 17 City departments.
