Renters Rights Forum

The Washington State eviction moratorium is due to expire on June 30, 2021, and in April the State Senate unsuccessfully attempted to block the house amendment to SB5160 mandating the moratorium's end. Now, thousands of households that are behind on rent are facing possible eviction on July 1. Five of the City of Seattle's commissions (Immigrant and Refugee Commission, Human Rights Commission, Disability Commission, Women's Commission, and LGBTQ+ Commission) host a Renters' Rights Forum to help renters understand their rights in preparation for the moratorium's expiration.

Speakers include:

Debbie Carlsen, LGBTQ Allyship

Mariko Lockhart, Seattle Office for Civil Rights

Councilmember Kshama Sawant, City of Seattle

Anquida Adams, Seattle Disabilities Commission

Rebecca M. Bryant, Seattle Women's Commission

Dulcie O'Sullivan, Seattle Department of Construction & Inspections

Tyrone Grandison, Seattle Human Rights Commission
