3/21/20171:58:28

"Immigration 101" is a workshop open to City of Seattle employees whose jobs relate to, or could benefit by learning more about immigration, immigrants' rights and other important information. Northwest Immigrant Rights Project Executive Director Jorge Barón leads a presentation on the basics of U.S. immigration policy. He examines current immigration law and breaks several myths regarding immigration, including the so-called line for "legal" immigration, the difficult situation many young people find themselves in when they are brought to the U.S. at a very young age, how deportations work and more. In addition, Mr. Barón answers audience questions about various immigration issues.
