Thousands of people work for the City of Seattle. But few can match the accomplishments of Fred Ueltschi. Two things about Fred: he's competitive and he loves to laugh! The competitive part comes from his 30-year involvement in Special Olympics. The laughs are the result of his good nature. Both traits have endeared him to his co-workers at the city's vehicle maintenance warehouse. Many attend his Special Olympics competitions to root him on. That bond has elevated their friendship to a feeling of family. And for Fred, that support allows him to step up - on to the podium, that is - to accept more medals!
