Reforming the state's mental health system is a top priority for Washington state lawmakers this session. Washington ranks 28th in the country for access to mental health professionals, and the troubled Western State Hospital recently lost federal certification and funding. There is strong bipartisan support for addressing the growing crisis; and many innovative proposals are on the table, but will lawmakers agree on how to pay for them?
