Practice your observational skills of looking, seeing, and imagining shapes, shading, and scale to translate what's in your mind's eye into a drawing. Teaching artist Maria Valdovinos shares her process for art-making and the skills that help her in her lifelong journey of learning and creativity. Maria uses pencils, pens, watercolor, and coloring pencils in this video. Use these or alternative materials you have at home. This lesson is great for learners of all ages, particularly youth grades 3-5.
