Seattle Public Space: Balance & Equity in Thriving Cities
Seattle Public Space: Balance & Equity in Thriving Cities
8/23/20191:28:55

Local designers, neighborhood coalitions and city policymakers discuss how public open space can promote balance and equity in the City of Seattle. The discussion explores how designers can support holistic and systemic solutions that address barriers to equity in the community. The Seattle Design Festival brings together designers, community members, experts, city officials, and business leaders to celebrate and explore how design improves the quality of our lives and our community. The theme of the 2019 festival is Balance and aims to connect designers, community members, and civic leaders to explore how we design for Balance.

The Seattle Design Festival is a program of Design in Public, a multidisciplinary nonprofit organization that promotes the role of design in improving our city.  Design in Public is a strategic initiative of AIA Seattle, a chapter of the American Institute of Architects, founded in 2011 to celebrate and explore the role and impact of design on urban life in Seattle.
