CityStream: Seattle Stand Down Gives Veterans a Hand Up

They serve the country with distinction and honor. But once they step out of the uniform, civilian life can be a challenge to some military veterans. The program "Seattle Stand Down" helps them get on their feet - not by giving them a handout, but by offering them a hand up! To date, the organization has assisted nearly 4,500 veterans who are either at-risk or experiencing homelessness. As producer Randy Eng discovered, the camaraderie and support provided by Seattle Stand Down has been a godsend to many.
