Seattle Gay News: Preserving the past
CityStream: Seattle Gay News: Preserving the past

The basement of City Hall holds a repository of nearly a half-century of history chronicling Seattle's LGBTQ community. Since 1974, the Seattle Gay News has covered everything from the AIDS crisis to violence against members of the gay community to same-sex marriage. But back issues of the beloved newspaper were at risk of being lost forever. Former city councilmember Tom Rasmussen would have none of that and is now spearheading an effort to preserve the newspaper for future generations. Producers Roberta Romero and Vincent Pierce have the story.
