Seattle organization provides lifeline for Washingtonians experiencing hunger
CityStream: Food Lifeline’s Mission
4/26/20225:42

Food Lifeline has served an important role in Western Washington for more than four decades. Each year, the organization diverts millions of pounds of food from farmers, manufacturers, retailers, and restaurants and ships it to more than 300 food banks and meal programs around the region. But its primary mission goes beyond feeding those in need. Mark Coleman, Food Lifeline’s Senior Media and Marketing Officer, says the organization is determined to end hunger by focusing on its root cause of poverty, brought on by racial inequity and social injustice.
