New federal tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act – billed as the climate law of a generation – are leading to a surge in electrification projects across the U.S. This includes rooftop solar installations. And yes, demand is up, even here, in gray and rainy Seattle. Installers say the tax credits result in about a 30% reduction in home solar systems. The total cost is still significant, but customers are told the systems will pay for themselves in 10-12 years. Michael Crowe has more.
