The Chino y Chicano podcast launched in 2022 with co-hosts Matt Chan, “The Chino,” and Enrique Cerna, “The Chicano.” Both spent their careers in television. Chan created the cable series "Hoarders," while Cerna worked as a Seattle broadcast journalist for 43 years. After Chan died on March 30, 2024, following a battle with kidney cancer, Cerna committed to continuing the podcast in his honor.
Washington state Sen. Rebecca Saldaña says she was shocked and dismayed by troubling allegations involving farmworker and civil rights icon Cesar Chavez. Saldaña, who previously worked with the United Farm Workers and has supported legislation to improve conditions for farmworkers, says the union’s national office warned her difficult news was about to break.
