Marilyn Raichle tried to hang on, but she was losing her mom to the steady advance of Alzheimer's. Their flowing conversations soon became one-sided, and her mother's recollections of life were lost. But something changed when her mom started to paint. It awakened part of her brain and opened a window to distant memories she expressed through art. As Nicole Sanchez reports the experience inspired Marilyn to create The Art of Alzheimer's, an organization to help others make a similar connection.
