The City’s Busker Series: Spreading Joy for 18 Years

One of Seattle’s greatest assets is its public park system. Some parks feature stunning views of Puget Sound or Lake Washington. Others serve as a community gathering spot and draw a crowd thanks to the city’s busker program. Across the country, many locations discourage busking, but not here in Seattle. In fact, for the past 18 years, musicians in city parks have entertained anyone willing to listen. And the artists are paid a stipend to do it! As producer Chris Barnes explains, this is a win-win for the public and the performers!
