If you're a fan of people-powered transportation, you've likely traveled, at least a leg of the Burke-Gilman Trail. Looking back, it was the power of people that made it happen. We trace the trail's roots from a little-used rail line to the popular path it is today. But it didn't align overnight. It took the perseverance of several community members and a key political connection to see it through. Today, the Burke-Gilman Trail is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
