James Gregory, Professor of History at the University of Washington, leads a discussion about the General Strike of February 1919. The strike lasted only six days but its effects have been felt across the generations. Professor Gregory explores the dramatic events of February 1919 and introduces some of the men and women involved, including Anna Louise Strong, the radical labor journalist who helped lead the strike, and Mayor Ole Hanson, who built his reputation on tough tactics used to suppress the strike.
