They offer a colorful glimpse of West Seattle's history, but 11 outdoor murals have lost their luster after enduring decades of pounding rain. The murals are now getting a costly touch-up that will save images of the past for future generations to enjoy. From history to heritage, one woman preserves the legacy of her Japanese immigrant mother by making jam using choice ingredients, simplicity and tradition.
