Now that it’s parade season, one popular group is stepping out with its usual style and precision as it marks a milestone. The Seattle Chinese Community Girls Drill Team is celebrating its 70th anniversary. For local parade-goers, the team’s cadence and colorful costumes have become a familiar sight. Many young women credit the team for providing them with an identity, a support system, and a greater appreciation of their culture. The drill team is the subject of a documentary now in production.
