CityStream: Coyotes in the City, Saving Orcas & Return of the Herring
7/25/202329:29
Many people believe coyotes only prowl the back woods. But fact is, these predators live in the city. So, what do they eat? And what do you do if you encounter one? We have the answers. A new program is helping to save orcas by lowering noise levels for the local endangered killer whales. And it was once considered a “cornerstone” species that arrived like clockwork each spring. But decades ago huge runs of herring nearly vanished in parts of Puget Sound. Now there are signs herring may be returning. Host Enrique Cerna has these stories and more from West Seattle’s Lincoln Park.
