El Centro de la Raza's 'Ignite the Change' rallies community to vote

El Centro de la Raza, in partnership with the Seattle Office of Civil Rights, kicked off a voter awareness campaign called "Ignite the Change" on August 2, 2024. Their goal is to boost voter turnout among Millennials, Gen Z, and the Black and Latinx communities. Last year, these registered demographics turned out to vote at or below 29%. Organizers hope to increase voter registration and turnout, and to empower people on topics like community advocacy and civic involvement.
