US Department of Justice celebrates 2 years of community violence intervention success

The Office of Justice Programs hosted an event in partnership with the Center for Children and Youth Justice (CCYJ), a recipient of $6 million in CVIPI funding since 2022. Last fall, OJP invested in CCYJ as an intermediary organization to help deliver federal resources to – and build the capacity of – grassroots organizations on the frontlines of reducing violence in King County. During the event, CCYJ announced the recipients of this subaward funding and capacity-building support. At the event, OJP’s Acting Assistant Attorney General, Brent J. Cohen reflected on two years of progress in Seattle and nationwide and will preview additional grant awards.
