February 26 marked the 25th anniversary of the Nisqually earthquake, a magnitude 6.8 temblor that shook the Puget Sound region for more than 30 seconds. To commemorate the event and reflect on lessons learned, the City of Seattle hosted a public gathering that brought together leading earthquake scientists, disaster professionals, engineers, and local officials for reflection, education, and a renewed sense of urgency.
