City Inside/Out: Seattle School Levies
1/25/201927:36
Voters will decide on Feb. 12 whether to renew two expiring Seattle Public Schools levies. The district says the $1.4 billion Building Excellence (BEX 5) capital levy and $815 million Education Programs and Operations levy are needed to maintain the current level of service at its schools. But opponents are concerned about the burden on taxpayers, considering the recent property tax increase by the Legislature to equalize education funding statewide.
