Baby & Company opened in the mid-1970s hoping to grab Seattle's attention. At times, the chic boutique stole the show with eye-catching window displays, elaborate parties, and trendsetting fashion. But as the company took off, the neighborhood transformed. Downtown construction blocked access, homelessness increased, and social unrest targeted businesses. Then the pandemic hit, and the boutique's owners decided it was time to move on. But, after 44 years in business, Baby & Company will long be remembered as the quirky upstart that celebrated non-conformity. Linda Byron has more on this story.
