City Inside/Out: Rental Rules
3/6/201529:29
Seattle is rapidly becoming a city of renters, but with housing demand and prices skyrocketing, tenants say they're being pushed out. The Seattle City Council is working on several new laws to protect tenant rights and secure more affordable housing, but landlords warn too much regulation will have a chilling effect on the local economy. Can we find the right balance to protect both tenants and property owners as Seattle attracts thousands of new residents?
On the show:
Amanda Michele Dellinger, renter
Liz Etta, policy director, Tenants' Union of Washington
