CityStream: Ready to Work Program
12/7/20176:48
For many new immigrants and refugees, adjusting to life here is daunting. They don't understand the customs. They're confused by the culture. And they don't speak English. All this can lead to feelings of isolation. But help is available. A nationally recognized program called Ready to Work is helping those with little or no English skills. This is not a two-month crash course. It's a long-term commitment complete with case management. The goal is to boost people up the economic ladder toward self-sufficiency. Roberta Romero shares this story of hope and determination.
