City Inside/Out: Showbox Showdown
10/19/201829:17
Seattle's Showbox Theater may be a cultural landmark, but it also sits on prime real estate, right across from Pike Place Market. The owner is selling the venue to a developer with plans for a high-rise apartment building, but more than 100,000 fans have signed a petition to save the Showbox. Will the City Council be able to stop the sale? Or will the property owner, who filed a $40 million lawsuit against the city, prevail?
Guests:
Roger Valdez, director, Seattle for Growth
Eugenia Woo, director of preservation services, Historic Seattle
