This vaudeville act was written and performed by youth in the International District Housing Alliance`s Wild Program. The show consisted of a series of skits covering water conservation, waste prevention, pollution prevention and other topics. It was performed at various venue in Seattle.

This video shows a school of several hundred pygmy whitefish preparing to spawn in the Cedar River above Chester Morse Lake. Female pygmy whitefish broadcast their eggs over the stream bed gravel, and the eggs are then fertilized by the male fish.

Bull trout spawning in the Cedar River above Chester Morse Lake. This video shows a female and a male bull trout spawning in the Cedar River upstream of Chester Morse Lake. Bull trout live deep in the lake during most of the year, but move into the river in fall to spawn.
Cedar River Fish: Chinook

Chinook spawning in the Cedar River above Landsburg Diversion Dam. This video shows Chinook salmon building a redd (a nest in the stream bed gravel) in the Cedar River about 12 miles upstream of Landsburg Diversion. Migration of salmon above the dam was blocked in 1901 and renewed in 2003 following the completion of a fish passage facility. These fish are among the first generations of salmon to recolonize the Cedar River above the dam.

These digital stories were created by students in the Global Leadership Class at Chief Sealth High School. They were used by the students to engage their peers, family, and the larger community about what they learned about sources of pollution, the impact it has on people and environment, and what kinds of things can be done and are being done to address it. Stories focus on: Puget Sound, Cell Phone Waste, Hazardous Waste, Shoe Waste and Heavy Metals.
These 3 short animated works were made by 4th and 5th graders at South Shore School in Seattle. They were used to educate family, friends and the larger community about every day actions we can do to help protect the environment. Made in partnership with Reel Grrls.
