Director of Seattle's Office of Sustainability and Environment, Jessyn Farrell, said the Green Lake Library Branch will now function better for patrons and the planet. It reopened on Oct. 28 after 20 months of major renovations, including a seismic retrofit; HVAC installation, giving the 114-year-old building air conditioning for the first time; a new elevator, restrooms, and furniture, and more modern and usable space for patrons, funded by Seattleites via the 2019 Library Levy.
