Across the country, lawmakers and leaders are singing the praises of early education. And Seattle is using the latest research on successful preschool programs to develop its Preschool for All Plan, an ambitious proposal to provide voluntary, high quality preschool to all Seattle children. So why isn`t there unanimous support for universal preschool? Providing perspective are State Rep. Ross Hunter, chair of the House Appropriations Committee; Keisha Scarlett, principal of South Shore PK – 8 School; and early childhood development professor Dr. Hirokazu Yoshikawa.
