After raising a family and serving his country as a captain in the U.S. Army, artist Lawrence Pitre did something life changing for himself. He went back to school and received a Master of Fine Arts from Seattle University. As part of his thesis, Pitre created a series of 28 colorful paintings that reflect his passion for community and cultural history.  His "We Are One" series documents the rapidly changing landscape of Seattle's Central Area and captures the rich cultural fabric of one of the city's oldest neighborhoods.
