Sarah Norsworthy is inspired by the natural world and she paints her subject matter—woods, mountains, parks, backyards—in an almost sculptural fashion. Close up, the surface of her thickly layered canvases appear as abstract patterns. Then, stepping back, the paintings burst into dynamic focus, revealing trees, sky, flowers, water, and maybe a bird or two. Sarah is the real deal, and “Written in Water” is a show to experience live and in person. See it at studio e gallery through September 30, 2023.
