Community and philanthropic leaders to launch new Vaccine Equity Fund
Community and philanthropic leaders to launch new Vaccine Equity Fund

Governor Jay Inslee, King County Executive Dow Constantine, Seattle Mayor Jenny A. Durkan, Seattle Foundation President & CEO Tony Mestres, and community leaders from across the State of Washington will launch a new statewide philanthropic Vaccine Equity Fund led by All In WA. New data released by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) shows that low percentages of Hispanic, Black and Multiracial people have received the COVID-19 vaccine as compared to each group's proportion of the state population. All In WA launched the Vaccine Equity Fund in response to inequitable vaccine distribution among communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. In addition to government resources and the creation of efforts like mobile teams, the new initiative targets and streamlines funds to trusted, community-based organizations who can conduct linguistically and culturally-specific vaccine education and outreach, as well as safely facilitate mobile and pop-up vaccine clinics for those who want to get vaccinated.
