When you think of beaver dams, you likely envision a rural setting with industrious, little critters hard at work. Fact is, wildlife is thriving right in the city of Seattle, beavers included! Magnuson Park is one spot you’ll see the environmental benefits that beavers provide. Not only do they create wetlands that form habitats for a wide variety of other animals, but beavers also have a knack for improving water quality. Occasionally, a beaver’s handiwork creates headaches for humans. As Michael Crowe reports, a group called Beavers Northwest helps wildlife coexist with the rest of us.
