Thousands unite for Seattle's annual MLK Jr. Day March
1/20/20252:00
On Monday, over 5,000 people came together to commemorate and pay tribute to the enduring legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the annual MLK Jr. Day march. Now in its 42nd year, the event centered around the theme "We Rise Against Project 2025." Some topics on the marchers' minds included the conflict in Gaza, women's reproductive rights, voting rights, LGBTQ rights, and civil rights. For City of Seattle employee Martin Norman, named after Martin Luther King, Jr., coming to the march with his son Justus has been a tradition since his son was born. "We've always had hope ... we endure, and we keep pushing on," said Norman.
