Elections have consequences. With the new year, Seattle has a new mayor and a new, more progressive City Council. A political page is turning at the City. But is it turning backwards, towards the policies that held sway during the COVID era, or forwards into a new chapter in our municipal politics? This month, The Block Table welcomes new City Council President Joy Hollingsworth as their special guest. In the talk, Hollingsworth talks about how she's envisioning her new role, what the big issues and priorities are likely to be for the new Council, how she sees the Council's relationship with new Mayor Katie Wilson playing out, and where she thinks our politics are headed.
