City of Seattle Mayor videos
Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and Superintendent of Seattle Parks and Recreation AP Diaz, joined by civic, business, and community members, reopened City Hall Park in Pioneer Square. This historic 1.3-acre park reopened after being closed to the public in August 2021 to remediate park damages, undertake several park improvement projects, and develop a robust park activation plan.
City Hall Park offers greenspace and opportunities for recreational activities in the downtown core. The reopening celebration will feature an all-day event packed with exciting activities, including live music performances by local bands, lawn games, buskers and food trucks. Going forward, Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) will regularly activate City Hall Park with games, food trucks, concerts, and art installations to ensure a positive and welcoming experience in the civic center. During open hours, the park will be staffed by two park rangers, part of the significant expansion of the program under Mayor Harrell.
