Seattle Police Chief John Diaz announced his retirement after 36 years in law enforcement, 33 of those years as a member of the Seattle Police Department. Assistant Chief Jim Pugel of the Criminal Investigations Bureau will be the acting Interim Chief upon Chief Diaz`s departure at the end of May.
