This silent film, shot in color, shows a series of scenes from the re-construction of Seattle`s Ballard Bridge approach structures in 1939. The film shows how the wood piers, column and truss structure, built in 1917, were completely demolished and then replaced with concrete and steel. Don`t miss the scene of ironworkers passing hot rivets used to secure steel beams in the new structure!
