King County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Satterberg talks with host Eric Liu about his legal career and the top job in the prosecutor`s office. Satterberg was elected in in 2007 following the death of longtime friend and mentor King County Prosecutor Norm Maleng. Satterberg, who was Maleng`s chief of staff for 17 years, ran unopposed in 2010. He is responsible for prosecuting all felony crimes and representing the county in civil matters. The Prosecuting Attorney`s Office employs more than 225 attorneys, 240 staff, and has a budget of nearly $62 million. Outside the courtroom, Dan`s hobbies include playing bass and singing in his rock band The Approximations.
