Seattle Speaks
Live town halls on trending topicsAbout Seattle Speaks
Seattle Channel, Town Hall and CityClub came together to create Seattle Speaks -- a unique, multi-media town hall for the 21st century to create compelling television on surrounding challenging and important issues in Seattle.
Referendum 74 asks voters to approve or reject a law passed in February 2012 by the state legislature legalizing same-sex marriage in Washington. This episode of Seattle Speaks – a live, interactive town hall program – focuses on the controversial topic and brings together supporters and opponents to debate and discuss the issue in the round. Brian Callanan moderates the forum featuring a panel made up of two R-74 supporters, Washington United for Marriage advisor Anne Levinson and former King County Executive Ron Sims, and two opponents, Preserve Marriage Washington Director Joseph Backholm and State Sen. Dan Swecker, R-Rochester.
