Today, there are at least 53,000 homeless people in King County, adding increased pressure for more accountability from the region's homelessness authority. Some Eastside cities are also stepping up. Seattle has invested a billion dollars in the past decade to address the crisis, and its new slate of councilmembers are now joining residents, business owners, and service providers in demanding greater accountability and results.
