Front Row: Charlie Albright performs Grieg
8/6/20203:35
Concert pianist Charlie Albright performs "Arietta, Op. 12, No. 1," by Edvard Grieg. Arietta means "little song," and is the first in Grieg's "Lyric Pieces," a collection of 66 short and sweet melodies published between 1867 and 1901, when he was in his 20s. This performance was recorded at a virtual gala concert in celebration of the 950th jubilee of the City of Bergen. This event is a production of the Northwest Edvard Grieg Society and the Seattle-Bergen Sister City Association, filmed at the National Nordic Museum in Seattle's historic Ballard neighborhood.
