On the 20th anniversary of the Columbine school shooting, Washington State's top gun violence prevention organizations and governing bodies come together to raise awareness on existing gun safety laws. Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs) are an underutilized tool to prevent individuals at high risk of harming themselves or others from accessing firearms. Family members or law enforcement can obtain an ERPO in response to an individual's dangerous mental health crisis or violent behavior.
