Since the 1970s, the city has amassed an impressive art collection. It includes nearly 3,000 portable works - everything from abstract to conceptual paintings, photographs, sculptures, and textiles - installed in various city departments. The collection includes works by notables such as Jacob Lawrence, Dale Chihuly, and James Washington Jr. as well as emerging artists. City employees can request art for work areas, with many pieces installed in areas that are open to the public. Producer Ian Devier takes a look.
