During the October 8th meeting of the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners Interim Superintendent Michele Finnegan responded to public comments and provided updates from the department. Christina Owen, Seattle Botanic Gardens CEO, presented an update on the organization's organizational transition and its long-term vision for the Arboretum. Jessica Murphy provided a Planning and Capital Development update, highlighting recent project completions, the status of community center projects including a detailed update on Green Lake, and progress on the racket sports strategy. Superintendent Finnegan also provided a budget overview, explaining proposed general fund reductions and realignments of Park District funds.
