Ed Murray served as mayor of the city of Seattle from 2014 to 2017, leaving office on September 13, 2017.
Mayor Ed Murray signs the residential provision of the Mandatory Housing Affordability program which creates 6,000 affordable units in Seattle over the next ten years. Murray also signs a tenant protection bill banning discrimination based on source of income and preferred employer rent discounts. Both laws were recommendations of the Housing Affordability Living Agenda and were passed by City Council in the past week. The ceremony takes place at Low Income Housing Institute's Ernestine Anderson's Place, which is adjacent to a new affordable housing development site.
