Seattle artist Blanca Santander's paintings, illustrations, and sculptures are colorful, vibrant, and often promote a message of empowerment. Born in Peru, she developed a passion for social justice, the environment, and immigration rights. But that devotion also led to a frightening encounter in the jungles of Peru that transformed her life and led her to relocate to Seattle. Santander will be a featured artist in the Ethnic Heritage Art Gallery, located inside Seattle Municipal Tower. Enrique Cerna has much more on the life and work of Blanca Santander.
