Afghan Advantage: A Place to Begin
Community Stories: Afghan Advantage: A Place to Begin
10/19/202619:12

The documentary "Afghan Advantage: A Place to Begin" follows Afghan women in the Seattle area as they build confidence, independence, and community while adapting to life in a new country. Through education, mentorship, and practical experiences such as learning to navigate public transit, the film highlights the everyday barriers newly arrived women face, and the community-based support helping them move forward. More than a story of resettlement, Afghan Advantage explores how access to knowledge, trusted relationships, and culturally responsive support can strengthen communities and create pathways toward greater self-sufficiency.
