Mayor Ed Murray, joined by Councilmembers M. Lorena González and Tim Burgess, signs an ordinance creating a $1 million legal defense fund for Seattle residents and workers who cannot afford legal representation or services in immigration proceedings. The measure was introduced in response to the Trump administration's actions in its first 100 days against immigrants and refugees, which will likely increase the number of people in need of legal services in court.
